Kristopher Zylinski, an untrained Internet troll, got himself into some serious trouble after making the following Facebook post:
“99% of women are too weak and lack the reflexes to do enough damage to stop 99% of men. Even if they knew BJJ, they just don’t have the size or strength to use the holds. It’s dangerous to teach any woman to try and strike or fight a man. Just my 2 cents.”
He didn’t stop there, however. He went on to give himself an 80% chance to beat a professional female MMA fighter.
Former professional MMA fighter Tara LaRosa didn’t take kindly to Zylinski’s remarks, offering to step in and fight the troll after two other female MMA fighters had to pull out due to injury. LaRosa posted the following on Facebook:
“A friend tagged me in on the search for a replacement and I responded as a joke…welp, I guess shit got real, so here I am! If you don’t know me, I’ve been training in martial arts since 1995. I got into Shotokan karate in high school, and then got involved with judo in college. I placed 2nd at collegiate nationals in 2001. Shortly after, I started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA (which was referred to as NHB back then).”
“So, I had an amateur fight in November 2001, and I went pro in April 2002. I’ve been training and fighting ever since.”
As you can see from the video below, LaRosa, who had been retired for several years at the time of the fight and was pushing 40 years old, had no trouble handling the untrained Zylinski.
